From an early age, I have always had a desire to draw, doodle, paint and experiment. Attending art classes at highschool was very entertaining for me, and unfortunately I drove my art teacher mad, by my casual attitude, (sorry Mr Coke!)
Having continued with my sketching and painting at different times over my "being mum to three children and dairy farmer" years, my spark for all things arty was reignited once my children left the nest. Attending the basics acrylics class through Artbuzz in Tauranga was the catalyst for me, that encouraged me to further explore the art world, my potential and to enjoy the whole process of my art, and being drawn towards the nudes paintings.
I was selected to participate in the Garden & Art Festival in Tauranga 2004 which was a very rewarding experience for me, and was very amusing to see the response from the festival people that had come across my "naked" paintings, some were a tad coy - others loved my subject matter. Painting gorgeous women in enticing lingerie fashion is very entertaining for me, and always receives encouraging compliments - and of course the sexy men are always much admired by me.
I have painted a variety of subjects including landscapes, flora and fauna, portrait
s - but I have a love for the nude - both female and the male. My work has been leaning more towards the male nude at present, as I enjoy the whole sensuality and sculpture of the sexy male body in its prime, it is a joy to paint and also a tad risque at times.
I love using the warm colours to portray my nudes. Having had a studio at Tauranga was a new adventure for me, and recently moving back to the Waikato has enabled me to "begin" painting away again merrily, upstairs with the beautiful countryside vista and my music on to keep me in the zone, happily forgetting what time of the day it is.
My paintings are very affordable, and I use exhibition quality boxed canvases with sides painted as well, prepared with gesso and varnished at completion, it's a bit of cheeky fun for the people who are attracted to the nude as well, go and have a look through them, old and new and enjoy, and if you would like to add some spice to your life, dont be shy and buy what your heart desires, ps though, if the viewing of full frontal male nudity offends you, you might need to leave now... R18 !

PS: I have been selected to be the Featured Artist for the month of November, for the Emerging Artists Group on Facebook, which is based in Florida, so that was pretty exciting news for me, and have used my Frida Kahlo artwork as the profile picture for month as well.
PPS: Ive just been selected to be one of the featured artists for the SLAM magazine based in Florida, for their February edition!!
